Sightra and Sharperlight: reporting on Workbench job costing data
If you run your jobs in Workbench and report on them with Sharperlight, Sightra is another way to see the same job costing data. This page explains what each tool is and how they differ, so you can decide what fits your team.
What is Sharperlight?
According to sharperlight.com, Sharperlight is a reporting and business intelligence platform that connects to ERP, finance, operational, cloud and legacy systems and produces live Excel reports, web reports and dashboards. It is tested with over 50 datamodels and connectors.
What is Sightra?
Sightra is a dashboard and reporting layer built only for Workbench. It gives NZ construction and trade teams live dashboards for operations, finance, service and procurement, plus widgets you can arrange into your own dashboard. It is built in New Zealand by ShiftCurve and is currently in early access.
Is Sightra an alternative to Sharperlight?
For reporting on Workbench data, it can be. The two take different approaches:
- Sharperlight is general purpose. It connects to many systems and data models.
- Sightra does one thing: it turns Workbench data into dashboards for jobs, service, procurement and finance, with views that span modules, such as jobs at risk of going over budget.
If you need reporting across many systems, a general platform may suit you better. If your question is “what is happening across my Workbench jobs right now?”, that is what Sightra is built for.
Can I use Sightra and Sharperlight together?
Yes. Nothing in Sightra requires removing existing reporting, and it does not replace Workbench.
Does Sightra use AI?
